Our story
Founded in 1962, the West Chester Coin Club makes its home in the beautiful rolling hills of Chester County, Pennsylvania. We have always held our meetings and events in and around West Chester, the county seat.
The club holds monthly meetings at 7:30pm on the third Monday of every month. The meeting consists of a business report, followed by an educational program by some excellent speakers, most with exhibits or slide programs. Following the educational program, we take a coffee break. There is always the camaraderie and socializing between members during the coffee breaks. Sometimes I think there's more information exchanged over a steaming cup of coffee than during the rest of the meeting. Lucky members receive door prices, participate in a 50/50 drawing and buy tickets for a raffle, where several prizes are presented to the fortunate winners. The meeting concludes with an auction, where members submit coins to be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
Whether you're just starting out as a coin collector, an advanced numismatist, or only interested in saving common circulated coins issued every year, the West Chester Coin Club has something to offer. As a member, there is no obligation to attend a minimum number of meetings. Just attend one meeting to submit your application and one meeting at which your application will be reviewed and voted upon. There's no pressure to renew your membership after the first year if you don't enjoy the club and find it both educational and interesting.
Of course, we hope that you will find the time and be interested enough to become a dedicated member. But we think that with all the interesting educational programs that are presented monthly, and our popular monthly auctions, you won't want to miss even one meeting.
